The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the alleged murder of one Miss Ummu Kulthum Sani, of Janbulo quarters, in Gwale local government area of the State, by a Chinese national, Gheng Chu, who is based in the State, on Friday. A Kano State High Court has sentenced AbdulMalik Muhammad Tanko, 38, to death by hanging for kidnapping and killing five-year-old school girl, Hanifa Abubakar. Tanko, the proprietor of Nobel Kids Academy and North-West Preparatory School, was the principal suspect in the murder of the pupil. The Kano State government has approved the renaming of the Kano State University of Science and Technology, Wudil. The State Executive Council approved this at its last sitting, presided over by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje. The State’s Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, who revealed this in a statement on Sunday, said the development followed a recommendation by the universitys Visitation Panel.
