Insecurity: Ganduje closes five health training institutions in Kano

The Kano State Government has ordered the closure of five Health training institutions in the state with immediate effect.  The directive was contained in a press statement issued yesterday by the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Health, Hadiza Mustapha Namadi, issued to newsmen in Kano.  According to the statement, the affected institutions include the School of Health Technology, Bebeji; School of Nursing, Madobi; the Schools of Midwifery in Gwarzo, Gezawa and Danbatta. Following security challenges in some neighbouring States, Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has directed the immediate closure of four tertiary institutions in the State. Kano bans Islamic cleric Nasir-Kabara for inciteful preaching

The Kano State Government has banned an Islamic cleric, Sheikh AbdulJabar Nasir-Kabara, for inciteful preaching. The State’s Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, who announced the order in a statement on Thursday in Kano, said that the government considered the cleric’s mode of teachings as “incendiary”. Kano Govt. seals hospital for violating Covid-19 protocols

The Kano State government has sealed a private hospital, UMC Zahir Hospital, in Kano, for treating severe cases of coronavirus, Covid-19.
