Social register: UNICEF integrates 20,800 Almajiri in Katsina

The United Nations Childrens Fund (UNICEF), has supported the validation and registration of 20,800 Almajiri children to the social register in Katsina State. Hajiya Rabi Mohammed, the Head of Operations, State Operation Coordination Unit (SOCU), disclosed this in Katsina on Wednesday at the quarterly Social Protection Technical Working Group (TWG) meeting. “Most Almajiri kids are not Nigerians”, says Ganduje

Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has disclosed that most of the almajiri children who roam the streets in the Northern part of the country are not Nigerians.
