President-General of ?hanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu is dead. His son, Jide Iwuanyanwu, confirmed his father’s death in a statement yesterday. The 82-year-old Iwuanyanwu passed away on Thursday, following a brief illness, according to the statement. He was a successful businessman and Proprietor of the defunct Iwuanyanwu Football Club , Owerri and Publisher of Champion newspapers, Lagos. Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, says it has no intention to interfere with the investigation of the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele by the Department of State Services (DSS). A socio-political group and affiliate of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, Njiko Igbo Forum, says it would not recognise Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu as its President-General. This was disclosed in a press release signed by the Forum’s president, Rev Okechukwu Christopher Obioha, on Friday.
