Over 10 illegal refineries, 500,000 litres crude oil reservoir uncovered in Rivers

Over ten illegal refineries have been uncovered at Odagwa community in Etche local government area of Rivers State. The illegal refineries were discovered by the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Commandant-General’s Special Intelligence Squad. According to the security agency, the illegal refineries had an estimated 500,000 litres of Crude oil warehoused in about 50 illegally constructed Reservoirs. Abuja: FCTA uncovers illegal oil refining warehouse in suburb

Officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) have uncovered an illegal oil refining warehouse in Mabushi, Abuja. The Director, Department of Development Control, Mukhtar Galadima, told newsmen yesterday, that the illegal refining site was uncovered during the continuation of the city cleaning exercise. Buhari orders ‘intensified’ clampdown on illegal refineries

President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that sponsors of the illegal refinery in Imo state which led to the death of “tens of Nigerians” in an explosion “must all be caught and made to face justice”.
