Niger State governor, Mohammed Bago, has called for the adoption of Hausa as the medium of instruction in primary and secondary schools across Northern Nigeria. Speaking at the National Literary Colloquium, which was held on Tuesday to celebrate the 60th anniversary of literary icon, BM Dzukogi, founder of the Hilltop Arts Foundation, Bago said this move would tackle the region’s high rate of out-of-school children and encourage greater enrolment in formal education. Southern Kaduna: Atyap, Fulani, Hausa communities sign peace pact

The Atyap, Fulani and Hausa communities in Zangon-Kataf local government area of Kaduna State have reached a truce and unanimously agreed to end the hostilities that claimed lives in Southern Kaduna. The peace deal was reached during a meeting between the Atyap, Fulani and Hausa communities in the area. The meeting was convened by His Highness, the Agwatyap, Dominic Gambo Yahaya at the Mariyamu and Yakubu Event Centre in Ungwan Wakili.
