There was a tense moment early yesterday, at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Benin, Edo State, as Police walked out the State Governor, Godwin Obaseki. The Appeal Court sitting in Abuja yesterday dismissed the appeal filed by the All-Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State and its governorship candidate, former Governor Mohammed Abubakar, against Gov. Bala Mohammed, of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP). Recall that the Election Petition Tribunal, sitting in Bauchi, had on 7th October 2019 dismissed the petition of the APC and its candidate in the election and affirmed the victory of Sen. Elections: IGP restricts movements in Imo, Kogi, Bayelsa from Friday

In preparation for the governorship elections in Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa States, the Inspector-General of Police, (IGP) Olukayode Egbetokun, yesterday, announced that there will be no vehicular movement as well as movement of canoes, ships and other means of transportation via waterways, starting from Friday.
