17-yr-old Nigerian student receives scholarships from schools across the US and Canada

A 17-year old Nigerian secondary school graduate who aced all her papers in the 2020 WASSCE, has been offered 19 full-ride scholarships by universities across the United States and Canada.  The student, identified as Victory Yinka-Banjo, was reportedly also offered $5 million worth of scholarship money for an undergraduate program of study, according to the admission documents.  Victory, who revealed that she had applied to many schools because she felt her chances of gaining admission were very slim, was offered potential full scholarships from Ivy League schools such as Yale…

Lagos to connect 100 schools to internet in May – Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said the state government would connect no fewer than 100 schools to internet by the end of May. Sanwo-Olu said this on Thursday, during the inauguration of Lagos State Schools Infrastructure Projects and four school buildings. The Federal Government has urged the 36 states of the federation to contribute to the review of 14-year-old gender policy in education to eliminate gender parities in the education system. The Katsina State government, on Sunday, directed the re-opening of boarding schools in the state from today, Tuesday, March 2. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the establishment of additional 20 private universities across Nigeria.
