The Zambian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Solomon Jere, has refuted media reports that the country’s founding president, Kenneth Kaunda, is dead. The High Commissioner, who made the clarification in Abuja at a media briefing, urged people to ignore the reports which he described as “contemptuous rumours”. Vietnam Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control today said Typhoon Molave has left 39 people dead and 44 others missing in Vietnam’s central and central highlands regions. Collapsed building claims 7 lives in Lagos – LASEMA

The Director General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, has confirmed that seven people died in a collapsed building in Lagos on Sunday. Man opens fire at Croatian government building, wounds policeman

An attacker opened fire with an assault rifle in front of the Croatian government headquarters in Zagreb on Monday, wounding a policeman guarding the building, the Interior Ministry said.
