Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reconsider the dates announced for the 2027 general elections, saying the proposed timetable falls within the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and could affect participation. INEC, in a notice issued on Friday, fixed February 20, 2027, for the presidential and National Assembly elections, while governorship and state assembly elections are scheduled for March 6, 2027. A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Bashir Ahmad, has countered United States lawmaker, Riley Moore on revelation from the Internally-Displaced Persons, (IDP) camp in Benue state.
