The Motion to proceed on the two-month break was moved, seconded, and unanimously adopted by members during plenary. The House of Representatives has announced an extension of its ongoing recess, with the resumption of members now slated for Tuesday, January 30. Recall that the 10th National Assembly proceeded on break on December 30, 2023, shortly after passing the 2024 Appropriation Bill and announced January 23, 2024, as the resumption date. The House of Representatives has suspended all activities by its committees including public hearings till September when the National Assembly resumes. The National Assembly has been on a two-month annual recess. Majority Leader, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, in a notice issued on Wednesday, asked the Clerk to the House, Patrick Giwa, to ensure that all clerks of the committees complied with the directive.
