Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU)Zaria, is set to honour the President of the World Trade Organisation, (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Sharif al-Hussain with honorary degrees. According to a statement issued on Friday by the Public Affairs Directorate, Office of the ABU Vice-Chancellor, his decision followed the consideration and endorsement of the recommendation by the Honorary Degrees Committee at the University’s 544th (Special) Senate meeting held on Tuesday, 7 January 2025. President Bola Tinubu has approved the reappointment of Adamu Adaji as the Director-General (D-G) of the National Boundary Commission (NBC) for a second and final term of four years. ABU ASUU wants degree certificates of Gov. el-Rufa’i withdrawn

The Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU), Zaria’s branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, (ASUU), has recommended the withdrawal of the academic certificate issued to Kaduna State Governor, Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai, for alleged violations of the requirements in character and learning deemed worthy of an ABU degree award. The recommendation was made as part of resolutions adopted by the union after its congress on Wednesday.
