Soldiers, on Friday evening, killed a Department of State Services, (DSS), operative in a hotel in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

An eyewitness told journalists yesterday that the incident occurred when a gang of three soldiers stormed the hotel, located along NTA Road, in Ado-Ekiti Ekiti, on Friday evening and an argument ensued between them and the DSS operative.
He added that during the argument, one of the soldiers stabbed the deceased in the neck.

“The DSS operative bled profusely and died before help could reach him,” the eyewitness stated. The soldiers were later arrested by six DSS operatives who stormed the hotel a few minutes after the incident.
The spokesman of the Ekiti State Police Command, Sunday Abutu, confirmed the incident.

He said the DSS operative was killed during an argument with some soldiers, adding that the Police had commenced an investigation into the incident.
