Sokoto State governor, Ahmed Aliyu has signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill into law, unveiling a ₦526 billion budget with 66% allocated to capital expenditure.
Dubbed: the “Budget of Transformation and Infrastructural Sustainability”, the plan focuses on infrastructure development and aligns with the governor’s 9-point innovative smart agenda, which has already delivered improvements in water supply, education, youth empowerment, and urban renewal.
Governor Aliyu highlighted his administration’s achievements, rating the 2024 Budget implementation at 90%, credited to collaborations with development partners, NGOs, and civil society organisations.
Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tukur Bala Boɗinga, praised the rigorous legislative process behind the budget and pledged effective oversight to ensure it meets the needs of the people.
