The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has condemned the attack on his supporters at the presidential campaign rally of the party, which was held in Kaduna yesterday.

Suspected political thugs reportedly attacked the presidential candidate’s supporters at the rally in Kaduna.
In a Twitter post yesterday, Atiku condemned the act, and urged President Muhammadu Buhari to call all political parties, noting that it was an attempt to scuttle the lawful right of Nigerians to assemble peacefully.
This comes just a few days after thugs attacked party supporters in Zamfara State, killing at least one person and injuring several others.
Atiku in the post, appealed to the President to call all political parties to caution their supporters as 2023 campaigns intensify, in a bid to tackle the reoccurrence of such incident, in order to ensure that campaigns and elections proper were conducted in a free and fair atmosphere.
He wrote: “I have just received emergency reports of attacks on PDP supporters by thugs sponsored to scuttle the PDP campaign rally in Kaduna State. This is undemocratic, and against the Peace Accord all parties signed up for just a few weeks ago. I urge President Muhammadu Buhari to call on all parties to call their supporters and members to order and to ensure that campaigns, just as with the elections themselves, are kept free, fair and safe”.
Casualties recorded during the attack could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.

During the Kaduna PDP presidential rally, Atiku vowed to restore peace and reactivate dying factories in Kaduna State if he emerges president of Nigeria in 2023.
He also promised to rehabilitate the roads linking Kaduna and Kano; Kaduna and Jos, and Kaduna and Abuja.
