The high-level meeting, which was held in Kaduna, focused on issues including banditry, terrorism, poverty, and the growing number of out-of-school children.

Chaired by Governor Inuwa Yahaya, of Gombe State, who led the Northern States Governors Forum (NGF), the gathering was hosted by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani. Traditional rulers, including the Sultan of Sokoto, Abubakar Sa”ad III, and the Shehu of Borno, Umar Garbai el-Kanemi, were also present.

General Musa briefed the governors on military efforts to combat the security threats, which have severely impacted the regions economy and development.

Governors Yahaya and Uba Sani both called for swift and decisive measures to address the crisis, warning that the on-going violence is worsening the socio-economic conditions in northern Nigeria.

Among those attending were governors and deputy governors from States, including Borno, Zamfara, Bauchi, and Adamawa, as well as other regional leaders.

Observers say the meeting signals a renewed effort to tackle insecurity through collaborative action between political and military authorities.
