Local sources said the attackers stormed farming settlements in the early hours, opening fire on residents and setting houses ablaze. Survivors described scenes of chaos as families fled into nearby bushes while armed men moved from house to house.

Community leaders confirmed that dozens of residents remain missing, with fears that many may have been taken into the forests by the assailants. Several injured victims are currently receiving treatment in nearby medical facilities.

Residents accused security agencies of slow response, claiming distress calls were made before and during the attack. However, authorities have yet to issue a detailed official statement confirming casualty figures.

The latest incident adds to growing concerns over the deteriorating security situation in parts of the North-Central region, where farming communities have repeatedly come under attack. Many locals say the persistent violence is forcing them to abandon their farmlands, raising fears of food shortages and further economic strain.

Security operatives are said to have been deployed to the affected areas, while search and rescue efforts are ongoing. Investigations are expected to determine the full extent of the damage and the number of people abducted.
