In a statement issued in Abuja at the weekend, Ramalan expressed concern over the incidents, in which bandits abducted hundreds of pupils, teachers across the North, prompting local and international outrage.

He said the latest attacks reflect the deepening insecurity across the North, ranging from killings, banditry and mass abductions to terrorism and communal violence.

According to him the situation mirrors wider national security challenges and Intelligence failures which requires a post-mortem by the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for well-coordination and sustainable actions by the security agencies and at all levels of Government.

He called for increased military presence in vulnerable rural and urban communities, improved intelligence-gathering, stronger inter-agency cooperation and additional Federal Government support for on-going efforts by the State administrations.

He pledged to continue, as a Public Service stakeholder, to offer Liberty Television and Radio platforms in engaging security agencies and communities in national security enlightenment campaigns and measures aimed at improving national security in the country.
