…Demands N15m ransom
In a disturbing incident, a group of terrorists kidnapped a woman and her two newborn babies, aged just 34 days, from their home in Kurfi town, Katsina State.

The abduction, which was reported by Bakastine, a conflict journalist in the North-West region, via X yesterday, occurred last Friday when the terrorists raided the woman’s village
The journalist wrote: “Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un!!! These newborns, just 34 days into the world have been held captive along with their mother since Friday night after being abducted in Kurfi town, Katsina State. A ransom of 15 million naira has been demanded for their release”.
It was gathered that the situation has taken a dire turn, as the terrorists have reportedly reached out to the family with a ransom demand of N15 million in exchange for the safe release of the woman and her two newborn babies. The news has sparked widespread concern and outrage on Nigerian Twitter, with many users expressing deep worry for the well-being and safety of the vulnerable captives, particularly the 34-day-old infants.
Spokesperson for the Katsina State Police Command, ASP Sadiq Aliyu, who confirmed the incident to newsmen via WhatsApp yesterday, also revealed that one suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the kidnapping.
He said: “We are making frantic efforts to ensure their rescue. One person has been arrested so far in connection with the case. Investigations are still on-going”.
Recall that according to previous reports, a deadly attack by bandits on Sunday evening in Runka town, Safana LGA, Katsina State. The attack claimed the lives of two Community Watch Corps personnel, Tajoddeen and Aminu.
In a separate incident on the same day, bandits raided Kanon Haki village in Faskari LGA, Katsina State, abducting multiple residents and plundering shops. The terrorists also reportedly stole livestock from the community during the attack.
