Residents of the Faruruwa community in the Shanono local government area of Kano State have been soaked in tension following a late-night attack by motorcycle-riding bandits on Sunday.

During this attack, five nursing mothers were abducted, and approximately 50 cows, along with other livestock, were stolen.
The Chairman of the Faruruwa community, Yahya Bagobiri, shared this information with the press in Kano and expressed deep concern over the ongoing violence, despite the presence of heavily armed military personnel and other security operatives in the area.
According to Bagobiri, the attackers stormed Yan Kwada village around 9 p.m., raiding several homes and abducting the women, reportedly discarding their babies in the process. “Among the five nursing mothers kidnapped, one has managed to escape, but four are still being held by the bandits”, he said.
He lamented that the security presence had not deterred the attackers, who continue to raid the community almost daily. “Even before the Sunday attack, we got information that the bandits were coming and alerted the security operatives, but nothing was done until they arrived”, Bagobiri recounted.
The latest incident has forced many residents to flee the area, fearing further violence.
Efforts to obtain a reaction from the police command were unsuccessful. However, a source, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that as of the time of reporting, no official information regarding the allegations had been received.
