The Federal Government has warned residents of 25 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of heavy rainfall on Thursday and Friday, with the possibility of flash floods.

The Federal Government, through the Nigeria Meter Geological Agency (NiMet) made this warning in a statement issued yesterday.
According to NiMet, States expected to experience the heaviest rainfall are Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Plateau, Borno, Adamawa, Taraba, and Kaduna. Niger, Nasarawa, Kogi, Enugu, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, and Abia are also expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall.
Anambra, Akwa-Ibom, Cross-River, Ebonyi, Kwara, Benue, and the FCT are expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall. Very light, or no rain, is expected over the rest of the country.
