Cameroonian fans support for Super Eagles’ progression massive – Coordinator

Super Eagles Coordinator Patrick Pascal has described the support from Garoua fans in Cameroon as crucial to the team’s progress at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.

Pascal disclosed this on Tuesday in Garoua ahead of the team’s last group ‘D’ match against Guinea Bissau on Wednesday.

“Garoua and Nigeria you know, we share the same border and I tell you the reception (Garoua) was warmly, very good and then we are very happy staying here.

“You know the most important thing about being happy is for you to qualify

The Super Eagles who currently top the group and have secured qualification for the next round just need a draw to cement their top position.

The Eagles have six points from two games having beaten Egypt and Sudan, while struggling Guinea-Bissau have just one point from their draw with Sudan and 0-1 loss to Egypt.

“The most important thing is for us to take all matches with all seriousness and then we are here, we have aim of coming here.

“Our aim is to win all our group matches so that we are here (Garoua), there is nothing like we are playing Guinea Bissau and we are going to leave out maybe our main team and then consider that we have qualified…. no.

“We are coming all out, you understand, this is to defend your country, we are Nigerians and proud to be Nigerians and then we are coming all out,” he added.

Three-time champions, Nigeria, will on Wednesday clash with Guinea-Bissau at the Stade Roumdé Adjia in Garoua, Cameroon.
