The younger brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, Isaac Fayose, has raised alarms over a sudden exodus of prominent Nigerian politicians traveling abroad.
This follows the announcement of a planned nationwide protest against bad governance.
In a viral video posted on social media, Fayose criticised the mass departure of governors, senators, and other high-ranking officials. He claims their abrupt travel plans are a direct response to the impending demonstrations.
In the video, Fayose stated: “House of Representatives members, senators, governors, and ministers are all traveling abroad suddenly because of the protest”.
The protest, organised by angry Nigerian youths and activists, aims to address widespread dissatisfaction with the current state of governance in Nigeria. The movement has gained significant traction on social media, with many citizens voicing their support for the cause.
Fayose’s remarks have further fueled public frustration, as many Nigerians perceive the politicians’ actions as an attempt to evade accountability. The situation at the airport has reportedly been chaotic, with increased activity as officials hastily make their way out of the country.
