Adamawa: 2 Shila boys escape being burnt alive for stealing two goats

Two suspected Shila boys have narrowly escaped being burnt alive by a mob after they were intercepted for allegedly stealing 2 goats in Girei local government area of Adamawa State.

The suspects, AbdulRahaman Musa, 26 and Sa’idu Ibrahim, 27, from Nassarawo ward in Jimeta/Yola, Adamawa State, were intercepted by the mob after stealing the goats in Girei town on Wednesday.

An eyewitness told newsmen that the dreaded Shila boys, who stormed Girei town on a tricycle, were sighted when stealing the goats by some people. He narrated that the people who saw the boys committing the act raised an alarm, as a result of which they were trailed and apprehended by the mob near Girei bridge along Yola-Mubi road.

According to him, the mob had tried to burn the suspects alive but were immediately rescued by the Police, adding that they were left with no alternative than to burn the tricycle of the suspects.

Confirming the incident to the newsmen, the Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the Police in Girei have arrested the suspects and that they are being investigated after which they will be charged to court.
