2021 Int’l Day of Girl-Child: Gombe First Lady celebrates with girls

Reminds families on good parenting

Gombe State First Lady, Dr. Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya, celebrates with our girls, as the world marks this year’s international day of the girl-child, calling on families to put more attention on good parenting to guarantee a dignified future for our children.

The governor’s wife stated this in a message to commemorate this auspicious Day of the Girl-child, internationally, lamented the increased social vices and gender-based violence that engulfed the girls in today’s contemporary world.

Dr. Yahaya however, encouraged women not to relent in their bid to come up with bolder solutions to gender inequality, adding that, this year’s theme: ‘Digital Generation, Our Generation’, which is meant to make girls an active part of the world’s progress is apt, due to its relevancy with the digital global economy.

Therefore, Gombe State First Lady, Dr. Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya, expressed her strong belief that girls and by extension women, are great assets of the world’s economic development that should be celebrated and provided with necessary tools to secure a better and brighter future.
