Boko Haram fighters have sneaked into Gaidam, a town in Yobe State, and killed 10 hotel guests.

According to reports, the terrorists also burnt down Government Science and Technical School in the town and killed a person in the living quarters of the school.
The report further said the insurgents entered through the eastern part of the town, after parking their motorbikes in a neighbouring community and stormed ‘Kwari’, a popular brothel in the town, where they slaughtered 10 people, both men and women.
An eyewitness said, “They took us by surprise this time around; they entered in silence without firing shots or using vehicles. Upon their entry, they asked some of the residents to recite verses of the Qur’an before they either allowed them to leave or get killed”.
Some residents are reportedly fleeing the town to avoid being trapped, as was the case last year when the insurgents similarly attacked the town and spent several days in the community.
The Executive Chairman of Gaidam local government area, Ali Kolo, could not be reached for comments as of the time of filing this report; however, his deputy, Musa Muhammed, confirmed the attack.
