“While US kills terrorists, Nigeria begs, pays and rewards them” – Fani-Kayode

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has lashed out at the Federal Government for pampering terrorists rather than killing them like the Americans are doing.

Fani-Kayode was reacting to the US killing of Ayman al-Zawahiri, al-Qa’eda leader.

Recall that on Saturday, President Joe Biden had announced that at his direction, the United States successfully conducted an airstrike in Kabul, Afghanistan that killed the emir of al-Qa’eda, Ayman al-Zawahiri.

Biden said the United States continued to demonstrate its resolve and capacity to defend the American people against those who sought to do them harm. “Tonight we made it clear: No matter how long it takes. No matter where you try to hide. We will find you. I made a promise to the American people that we’d continue to conduct effective counterterrorism operations in Afghanistan and beyond. We have done that”, he stated.

Reacting to this development, Fani-Kayode said the Americans killed Osama bin-Laden, AbuBakr Al-Baghdadi, and now Ayman Al Zawahiri, while giving the US kudos for a job well done. He lamented that in Nigeria, terrorists were not killed, but that instead, they were being begged, paid, appeased, and rewarded with chieftaincy titles.

He tweeted: “The Americans killed Osama Bin Laden, AbuBakr Al Baghdadi & now Ayman Al-Zawahiri. Kudos!  In Nigeria, we do not kill terrorists: we beg them, pay them, appease them, reward them, bow before them, give them chieftaincy titles and let them break into prison to free their brothers”.
