Where is Tinubu? Health rumours swirl, as Presidency dismisses concerns

Tinubu health rumours

Amid mounting public concern, reports suggest President Bola Tinubu may be battling a health challenge, potentially requiring urgent medical attention abroad.

Presidency

A published report yesterday disclosed that each has learned that several of his public engagements have been abruptly cancelled, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima stepping in at official events.

Tinubu has not been seen publicly since August 1, when he appeared at a media summit in Abuja. His absence at key state functions – including a celebratory reception for the victorious D’Tigress basketball team – has further fueled speculation.

Presidential Adviser, Bayo Onanuga denied the rumours, insisting Tinubu is “working from home” and even issued a condolence message to Ghana following a deadly air crash. However, the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting was quietly shelved, and a scheduled political gathering with APC stakeholders was cancelled.

According to the report, insiders say Tinubu has been largely confined to his private residence, with a possible overseas trip under consideration by his medical team.

Since assuming office, Tinubu has made multiple unannounced trips to France, often under the guise of “private” or “working” visits—raising ongoing concerns about transparency surrounding his health.

With uncertainty growing, Nigerians remain on edge, demanding clarity from the Presidency.
