The All Progressives Congress, (APC), has distanced itself from the perennial leadership crisis that besets the the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).
Recall that Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed, had alleged that the APC is behind the division and crisis rocking the party, saying the ruling party had planted moles in the PDP to feed it (APC) confidential information about what’s going on in the opposition party.
Reacting, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka, said the ruling party is not involved in the protracted imbroglio within the opposition party as alleged by governor.
Morka debunked the allegation in a statement on Friday in Abuja, in response to comments attributed to the governor. He stressed that the PDP’s crisis was the party’s doing and that it is ingrained, citing its history of leadership impasse that predated the APC’s formation.
According to him, the chaotic tenures of national chairmen: Barnabas Gemade, Audu Ogbeh, Vincent Ogbulafor, Okwesilieze Nwodo, Bamanga Tukur, Ali Modu-Sheriff, Ahmed Moh’d Makarfi, Uche Secondus and Iyorcha Ayu, are testament to confusion in the PDP.
The APC spokesman attributed the latest crisis to the PDP’s failure to adhere to its constitution on zoning and power sharing between the North and South geo-political zones.
He advised Gov. Mohammed and other PDP leaders to introspect and seek solutions within, rather than blame the APC.
