Troops of Nigerian Army on Friday, repelled Boko Haram fighters attack on Damboa town in Southern part of Borno State.
Voice of Liberty gathered that the insurgents stormed Damboa town in the early hours of Friday and opened fire sporadically.
This created tension among residents but troops reportedly engaged them in a heavy shootout, forcing te residents to stay indoors.
A security source told our correspondent that the attackers could not stay long and sustain the gun duel after troops engaged them.


“I can confirm to you that Boko Haram insurgents made an attempt this morning but it was not successful, the troops on the ground in Damboa town thwarted it immediately,” source said.
