The Coalition of United Political Parties, (CUPP), has launched a scathing attack on President Bola Tinubu, accusing his administration of causing widespread hardship and failing to address Nigeria’s growing insecurity and economic crises.

In a strongly-worded statement issued by CUPP spokesperson, Comrade Mark Adebayo, the Coalition described Tinubu’s administration as “wickedly inhumane, crudely unjust, horrifically destabilizing, and egocentrically unpatriotic”.

It warned that the country is spiraling into deeper chaos under his leadership and called on Nigerians to reject the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

The CUPP claimed that President Tinubu has neither the will, nor the solutions, to fix the nation’s worsening problems. “The country now operates like a leaderless society and a rudderless ship”, the statement read, citing daily killings across states like Plateau, Benue, and Borno, as well as the unchecked occupation of towns by bandits and violent herders.

The Coalition also criticised the President for allegedly prioritising his personal health over national welfare, and accused him of abandoning governance entirely. It pointed out the lack of ambassadors globally and the failure to inaugurate governing boards in major government agencies such as the Nigerian Ports Authority, (NPA), and the Federal Inland Revenue Service, (FIRS), raising concerns about corruption and inefficiency.

The CUPP condemned the administration’s failure to hold a national security summit and called for the involvement of international experts or even mercenary fighters to combat insurgents. “Reactive military tactics are no longer effective. A people’s army and professional military engagement are urgently needed,” it said.
