Tinubu to depart Abuja for UNGA meeting in New York tomorrow

President Bola Tinubu will tomorrow, Sunday, depart Abuja, the nation’s capital, to attend the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), which will be holding at the UN headquarters in New York, United States of America.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, who stated this to State House correspondents yesterday, said that the President, besides the main crux of the UNGA, will be meeting with key economic stakeholders around the world.

The President, in his first outing to UNGA, is billed to address the 78th Session of the high-level General Debate on Tuesday, September 19, and will address world leaders in the evening of that day.

The Nigerian leader will be the fifth African leader to speak on day one of the gathering, according to the speakers’ list from the office of the General Assembly president. According to the list, Tinubu will be the 14th speaker out of 20 leaders slated to speak on the first day.

Ajuri also confirmed that the President will be meeting with the global CEO of Exxon Mobil oil and gas company.
