Tinubu to attend Guinea Bissau’s 50th Independence Anniversary today

In commemoration of Guinea-Bissau’s 50th Independence Anniversary and Armed Forces Day, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will today, Thursday, join other Heads of State and Governments in Bissau, to celebrate the country’s golden jubilee.

In an issued statement signed on Wednesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, disclosed that following his week-long engagement in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he participated in the Saudi-Africa summit held on November 10, the President will be visiting Guinea-Bissau.

The President’s visit is for the second time in his administration, this time at the behest of President Umaro Embalo. Guinea-Bissau marked its 50th Independence Anniversary on September 24, 2023. However, the Government had scheduled all celebrations for November 16, 2023.

The statement, titled: ‘President Tinubu honours invitation to Guinea-Bissau for Independence Day commemoration’, also disclosed that the President is expected to return to Nigeria today, Thursday.
