Tinubu swears in Hunkuyi

President Bola Tinubu on Monday administered the oath of office to Dr. Saviour Enyiekere as Chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC), along with 12 commissioners representing Nigeria’s six geo-political zones.

The ceremony took place at the Council Chambers of the State House in Abuja, preceding the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

Among the commissioners sworn in was Senator Suleiman Othman Hunƙuyi, who represented Kaduna-North senatorial district from 2015 to 2019. Hunƙuyi, a former member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), recently rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC) before his appointment to the commission as a representative of the North West zone.

President Tinubu tasked the new commissioners with upholding professionalism, transparency, and national interest in discharging their responsibilities. He emphasised the commission’s pivotal role in ensuring effective legislative service delivery and support for the National Assembly.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) George Akume, and other top government officials.
