…As political heavyweights grace landmark visit
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, yesterday, commissioned a series of landmark projects in Kaduna State, marking a significant milestone in the administration of Governor Uba Sani and reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to national development through infrastructure, healthcare, and human capital investment.

The visit, part of events commemorating Governor Sani’s two years in office, saw President Tinubu inaugurate the Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development with centres in Rigachikun, Soba, and Samarun-Kataf. The vocational institutes, established by the Kaduna State Government, are part of a wider policy to transform the state into a hub for skills acquisition and youth empowerment.
Also commissioned were a newly constructed 350-bed specialist hospital, the 24-kilometre Kafanchan township road, the Tudun Biri road, and a 22-kilometre road linking Kauru and Kubau local government areas. The president also unveiled 100 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to bolster Kaduna’s public transportation system and reduce environmental impact.
These projects, according to President Tinubu, align with his administration’s four-point development agenda: expanding infrastructure, enhancing healthcare delivery, empowering the youth, and accelerating economic growth.

The President’s arrival in Kaduna was marked by a grand reception at the airport, where he was greeted by a high-powered delegation led by Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibril; Governor Uba Sani, and the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.
A military guard of honour by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) band added ceremonial grandeur before the president proceeded in a long motorcade to the Government House.
Also present were a host of governors and APC stalwarts, including Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), and Nasir Idris (Kebbi).
In a surprising development, former Vice-President and ex-Governor of Kaduna State, Architect Namadi Sambo, was also spotted at Murtala Mohammed Square among top APC leaders welcoming President Tinubu. Sambo’s presence sparked renewed speculation about his political alignment, particularly amid ongoing rumours of a potential defection to the ruling APC- a move he has publicly denied.
The high-profile commissioning underscored both the federal and state governments’ shared vision for sustainable development and painted a picture of evolving political dynamics as key figures realign ahead of the 2027 elections.
