Three of the abducted students of the Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School Tegina have died in captivity, bandits have told their parents.

The deceased were said to be girls while some of the students are seriously ill, the bandits further informed.
The students were abducted in their school in Tegina in Rafi local government area of Niger state two months ago.
The Nation learnt the bandits communicated with parents of the abductees on phone but refused to reveal identities of the deceased.
Chief Imam of Tegina disclosed these after one of the regular Muslim prayers in Tegina.
The Nation learnt the deceased children have been buried with the bandits promising to send videos of the burial.
Headmaster of the school, Malam Alhassan Garba Abubakar, also confirmed the latest developments.
According to him: “Yes, they told us that three of them are dead and with such news no parent would be okay.
He also said that they have been able to raise some money out of the N30 million ransom.
The money, according to him, has been sent to the bandits but they did not release the children.
The Head Teacher said that they have all resorted to prayers.
However, Niger Government has denied being aware three of the children have died in the custody of the bandits.
