President Bola Tinubu says the challenges Nigerians are facing due to the removal of the petrol subsidy are for a better tomorrow.

Tinubu stated this on Thursday at the public presentation of “Brutally Frank,” an autobiography of Edwin Clark, convener of the Pan-Niger Delta Forum, (PANDEF).
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, Tinubu compared the challenges caused by the removal of the petrol subsidy to the pains of childbirth, noting that the pains are necessary for the birth of a new nation.
The SGF said although the solutions to Nigeria’s problems may not be instant, it is important for everyone to be present and actively involved in the process.
He assured that palliatives are being put in place to alleviate the impact on citizens, adding that 100 trucks of fertilizers and grains have been sent to the states, with more on the way.
“And he (Tinubu) has also asked me to tell this gathering that we are going through a difficult phase in the history of this country,” Akume further said.
“Solutions to problems can never be as instant as coffee. But we must certainly be there. We can endure this for a moment. What we’re going through today is for a better tomorrow. Nations are great because citizens have hope; they have hope that tomorrow will be better than today”, he emphasised.
