Terrorists massacre 45 farmers in Borno fresh attack

Boko Haram terrorists loyal to the Jam?at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Dawah wal-Jih?d, have brutally massacred at least 45 farmers in their latest bloodshed against civilians in Borno State, military sources revealed.

The search for bodies continues after the terrorists on motorbikes attacked farmers while on their farms in Rann, the headquarters of Kala-Balge local government area, located in the northern part of the State.

Intelligence report obtained by a Counter insurgency expert and security analyst in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, through top military sources and made available to newsmen, indicated that dozens of the fighters attacked the peasant farmers who were working in their fields with machetes.

The intelligence report added that large numbers of the terrorists armed with guns and machetes encircled the farmers and held them hostage before executing them one by one.

The sources, who narrated how the 45 farmers were killed, said some of the bodies were dismembered while some were tied up and their throats slit by the terrorists.

The sources said that the victims were buried on Monday with residents saying many others were yet to be accounted for.

Military authorities are yet to issue any statement regarding the attack as of the time of filing this report.
