Again, terrorists yesterday invaded a mosque at the Sabon-Layi, in Birnin-Gwari local government area of Kaduna State, killing the Chief Imam.
A community leader, Zubair AbdulRa’uf, said the incident occurred during the early morning prayers, around 5am.
The three worshippers – Kabir, Bilya Mairabo and Ashiru Mairabo, – who were said to be receiving medical attention at the Jibrin Maigwari General Hospital, Birnin-Gwari, reportedly sustained various degrees of injuries during the attack.
There was no official confirmation from either the State Government or the State Police Command as of the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Birnin-Gwari ‘Vanguard for Security and Good Governance’, Ibrahim Abubakar Nagwari, who condemned the attack by the terrorists in an issued statement, said that “almost on a daily basis, terrorists are on parole across the entire Birnin-Gwari local government area, killing and abducting innocent citizens”.
