The West Africa Examination Council has announced August 16, 2021, for the commencement of the 2021 West African Senior School Certificate Examination, (WASSCE). The Head of the Nigeria office, Patrick Areghan, made the announcement in Lagos on Tuesday. “In accordance with the Final International Timetable, the WASCCE 2021 will take place throughout the sub-region from Monday, 16h August to Friday, 8th October 2021. “However, the examination will end in Nigeria on 30 September 2021- spanning a period of seven – weeks,” he said. FG orders reopening of schools for graduating students, announces date for WASSCE

Nigeria’s Federal Government on Monday announced the reopening of schools for graduating students with effect from 4 August, 2020 and fixed August 17 for the commencement of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE. A statement issued on Monday by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, Ben Goong, said exit classes should reopen on 4 August. Reps fault Education Minister on cancellation of WASSCE

The House of Representatives has disagreed with the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, over the reversal of the Federal Government decision for schools to reopen to enable final students write the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
