As Nigerians count days to August 1, the US Embassy in Nigeria has issued a security alert to citizens resident in Nigeria  to avoid identified locations over the planned nationwide protests. This was contained in a notice dated July 26, 2024. 2023 Election: “Beware of protests, avoid large crowds”, US embassy warns its citizens

The United States embassy in Nigeria has advised its citizens in the country to avoid large crowds and protests during and after the forthcoming elections. US removes reciprocity visa fees for Nigerians

With effect from December 3, the United States will remove all visa reciprocity fees for Nigerians seeking visas to the US, the Federal Government has said.
