Red Cross International trains journalists on humanitarian reporting

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), has commenced training for journalists to enhance their skills in humanitarian reporting. Robin Waudo, the Communication Officer at ICRC, stated this at a  two-day workshop for media professionals on Wednesday in Kano. He said that the workshop was aimed at improving the reportorial skills of journalists, in reporting humanitarian issues in the region. The Super Eagles on Tuesday in Benin had their first training session in the last leg of preparations for their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Sierra Leone. 16 of the 23 invited players took part in the training. The Secretary-General, African Petroleum Producers Organisation, Dr Omar Farouk Ibrahim, has urged stakeholders in the oil and gas sector to create a specialised fund for training of journalists that cover the industry.
