There was confusion at the Taraba State Polytechnic matriculation ceremony yesterday, after students engaged in a freestyle skirmish, injuring each other during an ethnic clash. Insecurity: 10 killed as suspected herdsmen attack Taraba communities

No fewer than ten persons have been confirmed killed by suspected herdsmen in Bornon-Kurkur community, Bali local aovernment area of Taraba State. Confirming the incident on a television programme yesterday, the Police Public Relations Officer, David Misal, said the attack occurred, but said that the situation has been brought under control. Suspected gunmen in military uniform kidnap 27 persons in Taraba

About twenty-seven persons have been kidnapped by suspected gunmen in Taraba State, along Wukari/Takum road.  The Takum local  government council chairman, Shiban Tikari, while confirming the abduction said the victims were on their way back to Takum after attending a wedding in Wukari. Gunmen have abducted a member of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Barr Bashir Muhammad Bape from his house in Jalingo. Bape, who represents Nguroje constituency in the Assembly, was picked yesterday from his residence around Nana Aisha area of Jalingo, the State capital.
