Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu was yesterday nominated as the new Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum. Sanwo-Olu was nominated at the South-West Governors Forums meeting held at the State House, Ikeja, Lagos yesterday. All South-West governors were present at the meeting, which lasted for hours. Constitutional amendment: South-West governors propose supreme courts for geo-political zones

Governors in the South-West geo-political zone have proposed de-centralisation of the Supreme Court in the on-going amendments to the 1999 Constitution by the National Assembly. In their memorandum, through the South-West Caucus in the National Assembly, the governors are seeking the establishment of six more apex courts, one in each of the geo-political zones.
