Covid-19: China to produce 400m doses of vaccines in Nigeria – Envoy

The Chinese government has said it is perfecting plans to work with the Nigerian government to produce 400 million doses of its Covid-19 vaccines in the country. The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Cui Jianchun, disclosed this on Tuesday, in Abuja, at a round table organized by the Center for China Studies (CCS), themed: ‘Build an African-China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era: Nigeria’s Actions and Contributions’. U.S. ‘worried’ as China eyes permanent military base in Equatorial Guinea

China is looking to create its first permanent military presence on the Atlantic Ocean, on the coast of the tiny African nation of Equatorial Guinea, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal, based on classified U.S. intelligence. COVID-19: China temporarily bars Nigerians from entering its territory

The Peoples Republic of China has temporarily suspended travellers from Nigeria holding either its visa or resident permit from travelling to the country. In a statement issued from its Embassy and Consulate in Nigeria, the Asian country stated that only Chinese citizens who are returning from the country would be allowed back home.
