Oyo: Gov. Makinde reopens Shasha market

Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde has lifted the curfew imposed on Shasha market in Ibadan. The market was shut down indefinitely by Mr. Makinde last week after a cobbler was stabbed to death by a cart pusher resulting in ethnic clashes with stalls burnt and properties worth millions blazed. In a bid to forestall further clashes in the community the governor imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew, spanning from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily. Oyo: NANS gives Makinde 72-hrs to address alleged brutality of Amotekun corps on residents

Following the backlash that trailed the operations of the Western States Security Network, otherwise known as Amotekun, the leadership of the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS), has given a 72-hour ultimatum to the Oyo State government to set up machinery for the reorientation of operatives of the corps.
