Plateau killings: Lalong begs Ondo people, govt. for forgiveness

Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong, has begged the government and people of Ondo for forgiveness, following the recent attack on their people. Recall that about 23 people from Ondo State, passing through Jos were killed on Aug. 14, while 23 were reportedly 23 injured. The commuters were attacked en route Ondo, along Rukuba road in Jos-North local government area, of which more than 30 were rescued by security agents. Just In: Gunmen hijack school bus in Akure, Ondo State

There is panic among parents today, as some gunmen this morning hijacked a school bus in Oba-ile Estate, in Akure-North local government area of Ondo State, abducting one person who was on duty to convey children to school. Akeredolu wins at Ondo election tribunal

The Ondo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Akure, the State capital, has struck out a petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), against the return of Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), as governor. The petition, filed by PDP’s Eyitayo Jegede, was struck out for want of jurisdiction by the three-man panel led by Justice Abubakar Umar. Ondo: Gov. Akeredolu bans NURTW, RTEAN in entire State

Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has banned the National Union of Road Transport Workers, (NURTW) and the Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) from all motor parks in the State. Both unions were warned to stop collecting dues and levies from commercial drivers in the State. They were also ordered to vacate the parks in the 18 LGAs and stop collecting dues. Father impregnates daughter, 17, in Ondo, remanded in prison

A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ore, Ondo State, yesterday remanded a man, Peter Moses, in prison custody for allegedly impregnating his daughter. The 36 yr-old man was said to have committed the offence between November 2020 and January 2021, at Asewele Korede town, in Odigbo local government area of the State.
