Terrorism: FG mulls nationwide ban on motorcycles, mining activities

The National Security Council presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday, announced that it is considering a nationwide ban on motorcycles, popularly known as okada or acha?a, and mining, as part of its strategy to curb terrorist activities, checkmate loopholes and cut off their sources of funding. Niger State government says the reign of kidnap-for-ransom and terror in the State may soon be over following Governor Abubakar Sani Bello’s ban on the sale of motorcycles, popularly known as Okada or Achaba.
