A Police officer and personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) have been killed by their abductors. The NSCDC personnel, along with the Police officer, who was sick and had just come from another state, including a 14-year-old girl and a security man were abducted by gunmen at their houses at Mararaba-Rido, Chikun Local Government area of the state on August 28 August. Zamfara: Bandits kill one, abduct ex-Commissioners children, NSCDC officer

The Zamfara State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of four persons in the house of a former Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Mohammed Bello Dankande Gamji in his Gamji home town of Bakura Local Government Area of the state.
