NBC grants TV broadcast licence to NYSC

The National Broadcasting Commission, (NBC), has granted an operational television broadcast licence to the National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC). With the license, the NYSC would commence Direct Satellite Broadcasting as well as Internet Protocol Television. The NYSC Director-General, Major-Gen. Shu’aibu Ibrahim, received the broadcast licence from his NBC counterpart, Balarabe Ilelah, in Abuja, yesterday. The Director-General, National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Malam Shehu Ilelah, has said that the Commission will establish the Institute for Broadcast Policy and Regulations in 2022. Digital Broadcasting: Finally, Kano to switch-over to DSO this October – NBC D-G reveals

The National Broadcasting Commission, (NBC), yesterday, said it has concluded plans to migrate Kano terrestrial broadcasting to the digital transmission before the end of this October. North to boycott DSTV as CNG drags MultiChoice before NBC

The Coalition of Northern Groups, (CNG), has threatened that the 19 northern States may enforce a region-wide boycott of DSTV over the failure of its parent company, MultiChoice, to change its position and consider transmitting northern-based television stations. MultiChoice is the operator of DSTV and GOTV subscription TV brands. NBC denies stopping stations from reporting details of terrorists attacks

The National Broadcasting Commission, (NBC), has debunked reports that it directed media houses to stop reporting details of terrorist attacks. Disclosing this yesterday, via a letter signed by the Director-General of the Commission, Balarabe Ilelah, the commission argued that the contents of its “letter are not intended and by no means capable of being construed or interpreted as a sweeping gag on broadcast stations and journalists in the country”.
